Examples of Diaphragm Coupling Application

The diaphragm coupling is connected to the two halves of the coupling by several sets of diaphragms (stainless steel thin plates) alternately with bolts. Each set of diaphragms is composed of several pieces stacked together.

The diaphragm coupling compensates for the relative displacement of the two connected shafts by means of the elastic deformation of the diaphragms. It is a high-performance flexible coupling of metal elastic elements.

It is characterized by a relatively compact structure, zero backlash, high strength, long service life, no rotational clearance, being unaffected by temperature and oil contamination, and being resistant to acid, alkali and corrosion.

Applicable Motor Types: Recommended for servo motors, stepping motors and general-purpose motors.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q:Which is better between the single-diaphragm type and the double-diaphragm type in diaphragm couplings?
A:The double-diaphragm type can absorb angular misalignment and eccentricity, but the overall length will be longer.Although the single-diaphragm type has a shorter overall length, since eccentricity is not allowed structurally, it is only applicable to situations where space is limited. Special attention should be paid to centering during use.

Q:Abnormal noises or vibrations occur during the use of diaphragm couplings.
A:When using a servo motor, set the frequency of the mechanical resonance suppression filter to its natural vibration frequency in the control system to suppress sounds and vibrations.
When using a stepping motor, you can make fine adjustments to the operating speed, or absorb and suppress vibrations through a high-damping rubber-type coupling with a significant attenuation effect.

Q:How to make a selection based on the application, environment, and working conditions?
A:Please consult the Sihai Technical Department to learn about the product application situation.

Q:The coupling is damaged during use.
A:Please check whether it is within the allowable shaft deviation during use. When multiple shaft deviations occur simultaneously, their respective allowable values are reduced to half of those in the product catalog. Please note this.
