Cogging is the concave part between the teeth of a gear.
The space between two adjacent teeth on a gear is called a cog or a cog. The size of the tooth slot is represented by the slot width, which can be divided into two types: the end slot width and the normal slot width.
(1) End slot width (slot width) - in the end plane, the length of the graduation arc between the tooth profiles on both sides of a tooth slot, expressed by the letter E. The slot width on any circumference is indicated by the letter EI.
