Use of pressure angle
Whether in plane transmission or in gear transmission, the pressure angle can be used as a standard to judge the transmission performance of the transmission mechanism. The smaller the pressure angle is, the greater the component force of the force along the speed direction is, that is, the greater the transmission force is, the better the transmission performance of the mechanism is. The larger the pressure angle is, the smaller the actual useful work is. It can only increase the friction moment, but it is inevitable. In the mechanical design, because the pressure angle is constantly changing in the operation of the mechanism, the maximum pressure angle is generally no more than 50 degrees. When the pressure angle is close to 90 degrees, the mechanism will produce self-locking, so it can not operate.
