What Is Heartless Grinding?

Centerless Grinding is a grinding process mainly used for machining cylindrical parts, such as shafts and sleeve parts. Unlike traditional centerless grinding (which uses a center hole to fix the workpiece), centerless grinding does not require a center hole, but rather grinds through the clamping force between the workpiece, grinding wheel, and guide wheel. This process is widely used in mass production due to its high efficiency and precision.

The machining process of centerless grinding mainly includes the following steps:

1. Workpiece support: The workpiece is supported on the guide rail between the grinding wheel and the guide wheel. The guide wheel is used to adjust the feed speed and amount of the workpiece, while the grinding wheel is used for actual grinding.

2. Workpiece rotation: Under the drive of the guide wheel, the workpiece rotates at a certain speed.

3. Grinding process: The grinding wheel comes into contact with the surface of the workpiece and performs grinding processing. Through the rotation and feed motion of the grinding wheel, the material on the surface of the workpiece is gradually removed to achieve the desired size and surface roughness.

Heartless grinding is widely used in automotive manufacturing, bearing industry, tool manufacturing and other fields, mainly for processing the following parts:
